It's time for the ultimate summer day party underneath the faithful Lonnie Lighthouse.

There’s something incredibly intoxicating about Point Lonsdale, or ‘Lonny’ as the locals affectionately call it.

Located at the tip of the Bellarine Peninsula just 90 minutes from Melbourne and marking the dreamy entrance to Port Phillip Bay, the headland is dominated by the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse, which overlooks The Rip – a treacherous stretch of water where ships navigate the narrow gap between Point Lonsdale and Point Nepean.

Insta-famous for its striking skyline and the lofty views from the top, the iconic lighthouse will soon be part of the backdrop of an epic forthcoming Lighthouse Day Party.

Presented by Point Lonsdale Boardriders Club, Guts Touring and Gage Roads Brew Co., the sixth installment of Lighthouse Day Party will take over the iconic Point Lonsdale Boardriders Club with an epic Aussie lineup featuring the likes of Adelaidian rebel rock crew Bad//Dreems, Gut Health, the Mirrors, Tilly VW, Birdpop, Dj Carly and Matteo on Saturday, February 11 from 2pm.

Tucked away off Lonsdale road in the picturesque surrounds of the Point Lonsdale lighthouse reserve, The PLBC clubhouse and adjoining ramshackle outdoor stage create an incredible live music atmosphere, perfect for an outdoor summer party. Set next to the Lonnie back beach, amongst the Moonah trees and at the foot of the Lonny lighthouse, this event is becoming a fixture on the Victorian live music calendar.

“We cant wait to welcome everyone back to what we think is the best outdoor stage in the southern hemisphere,” says event organiser Max Lazarus.

“Young people in Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff are itching for events in summer,” he adds, reflecting on the success of previous events, targeting the 18-35 age group in an area where access to live music is limited.

“It’s great for the local community, people come down and stay in rentals, spend money at local businesses and not to mention we are bringing arts and culture to Lonnie,” event organiser Matteo Meirelles says.

While offering great music, the event also serves as a fundraiser for the Point Lonsdale Boardriders club, a non for profit community sports club. Every single person involved in organising the event is a volunteer. Funds raised will go towards junior development and finally getting the clubrooms connected to power and water.
