A massive dog-friendly night market is heading to the Geelong Racecourse this weekend

Miss Fizz

Peruse stalls of Geelong's best makers whilst sipping on wine and listening to some great music.

Picture this: a (hopefully) balmy spring night spent filling your belly and quenching your thirst from a selection of food stalls, and bars and ticking off your Christmas shopping list from amazing local makers. If that sounds right up your alley, then mark November 18 in your calendar, because that’s when the Piccadilly Market makes its way to Geelong for an epic night event.

From 5pm on Friday, November 18 2022 at the Geelong Racing Club, the Piccadilly Night Market is all about supporting the local makers in the region – and after the couple of years that we’ve all had, there’s never been a better time to support locals.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here.

Simply described as a design market, the Piccadilly Market is perfect for those wanting to support local businesses all under one roof, giving shoppers the opportunity to talk to the makers and get a feel for bespoke handmade products. There is nothing quite like purchasing something from the person who made it.

After its ridiculously popular Night Market at Mt Duneed in July, the market is once again taking on a night glow and will see the beloved Geelong Racing Club transform into the kind of shopping wonderland worth getting excited about, tempting you off the couch with an epic program of food, drinks, live entertainment and artisan market stalls.

The market will be hosting more than 70 stalls spanning Geelong’s most talented jewellers, fashion designers, illustrators, artists, food producers, and makers, all be there to provide you with quirky buys and artsy gift ideas for everyone on your fast-approaching Christmas list.

Alongside all the products up for grabs, this night market will also see two bars, food trucks galore, a fun farm, giant darts, human soccer balls, a chalk painting area and live entertainment from the legendary Piano Bar, making this quite the outing for all. It’s also dog-friendly so it’s literally a full family affair. You can also reserve a table (limited so get in quick) for the night which makes it a great opportunity to have end of year drinks before the real silliness begins.

And let’s be real: this market is also great for maybe picking up a little something for yourself (after you’ve gotten your Christmas list all sorted, of course).

Entry to this night market is $5 for 16+, free for kids Under 16 and there is plenty of free parking. So, round up your pals, come hungry and have a good time.

It all goes down at Geelong Racing Club at 99 Breakwater Road, Breakwater on Friday, November 18 from 5pm.
