Taking place on Saturday 11 October from 4pm to 10pm, ROAM Geelong will immerse audiences in a night of interactive installations, large-scale performances, and site-specific art experiences that spill across Johnstone Park and the surrounding arts and cultural precinct.
The City of Greater Geelong has now officially opened a call for artists, inviting creatives of all disciplines, from physical theatre performers to projection artists, musicians to digital innovators, to submit bold, participatory ideas that explore the city’s identity, people, and hidden stories.
“ROAM is not just about art, but about place, identity and our shared experience,” said Mayor Stretch Kontelj. “Creativity knows no bounds and we’re excited to see how people’s ideas explore the culture and vibrancy of Geelong.”
The event is focused on connection, to place, to story, and to each other. Artists are encouraged to create works that respond directly to the architectural features, public spaces, and layered histories of Geelong, turning laneways, courtyards and facades into stages for creative exploration.
Applications are open now and close at 11:59pm on Sunday 22 June. Submissions can be made here.
