Village Cinemas is celebrating national popcorn day with BYO popcorn boxes

Words by Staff Writer

Bring a bucket, an esky, or whatever is fun to eat your popcorn out of.

National Popcorn Day on 19th January just got a whole lot tastier with Village Cinemas inviting VRewards members to indulge in a popcorn feast – and it comes with a twist.

In a popcorn-first initiative, Village Cinemas is encouraging cinema-goers to bring their own containers and fill them up with popcorn for a mere $10. Yes, you read that right – a tenner for your box, unlimited popcorn!

Keep up with the latest food and booze news across the region here.

Forget the standard-issue cinema cartons; this year, they want you to think outside the box – quite literally. Bring a bucket, an esky, or any quirky, fun vessel to pack your popcorn in, and watch the magic unfold.

At the heart of this promotion is the community spirit of sharing and enjoying the cinema experience with a personal touch. So, whether it’s a classic popcorn bucket or a unique, imaginative container, let your style shine.

Before you embark on your popcorn-filled adventure, here are the deets:

  • You’ve got to be a VRewards member to join the popcorn fiesta. If you’re not part of the club yet, sign up pronto to get in on the action.
  • The cost? A mere $10 per vessel. Yes, that’s practically pocket change for a popcorn dream come true.
  • Your box must play nice with a 50cm hole. To ensure a perfect fit, there’s a cutout at the Candy Bar where you can test your container’s mettle.
  • Hygiene is key. Your chosen box should be clean and food-safe. Let’s keep the popcorn experience delightful and germ-free.

So go on, gear up, get your popcorn containers ready, and make this 19th January a day to remember – a feast of popcorn and cinematic magic awaits!
