The HOW GOOD journey began in a humble fish and chip shop in Rosebud, where Nick Yates and Gerry Bull hatched a plan that would merge their combined decades of industry know-how. The result? A one-of-a-kind venture poised to offer unparalleled bespoke campaigns to artists and brands, empowering them to realise their unique visions of success.

The name itself, HOW GOOD, encapsulates the cheeky and casual spirit that underpins the company’s ethos. But don’t be fooled by the laid-back moniker – their mission is to make a positive impact while delivering top-notch work.

At the heart of HOW GOOD is Nick Yates, a luminary with over 15 years of experience in the music and entertainment arena. Having navigated the realms of artist management and project coordination, Yates brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. His tenure as Senior Artist Manager and Head of Artist Management at UNIFIED Music Group adds a shining touch to his impressive portfolio. During his time there, he successfully steered the careers of celebrated artists including Illy, Amy Shark, Violent Soho, and Nina Las Vegas. In the past year, Yates took on the challenge of overseeing music festival partnerships for AIME (Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience), cementing his understanding of the non-profit sector. He’s also been a guiding voice on the Board of the Association of Artist Managers (AAM) and on the judging panel for the American Express Music Backers Grant.

Now, as part of HOW GOOD, Yates sets his sights on spearheading venue bookings for Sydney’s revered Crowbar. His ambition is to elevate the Crowbar brand while nurturing up-and-coming Australian artists – a multi-faceted feat that only an industry maestro could master.

Enter Gerry Bull, another powerhouse who’s making waves with HOW GOOD. With an illustrious 13-year career as triple j Publicist, Bull has honed her craft, curating countless partnerships, and leading publicity campaigns for major music outlets and festivals across Australia. She’s the force behind campaigns for triple j, Double J, triple j Unearthed, ABC TV, Hottest 100, J Awards, and Ausmusic Month, just to name a few. Her touch has shaped the monumental One Night Stand, Beat The Drum concerts, and flagship festivals like Splendour In The Grass and Laneway Festival. Bull’s dedication doesn’t stop at music – she’s taken strides to promote diversity in the industry, impact elections, and champion charitable causes like AIME and Lifeline.

Nick Yates and Gerry Bull are gearing up to bring their collective expertise, boundless enthusiasm, and powerful vision to a host of upcoming projects under the banner of HOW GOOD. Keep your ears to the ground, because this dynamic duo is ready to reshape the music landscape.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates, and let’s collectively exclaim: HOW GOOD!
