Experience an exclusive evening at Rone’s epic takeover of Melbourne’s iconic Flinders Street Station.

In his most ambitious building takeover to date, Geelong-born artist Rone has presented Time, an extraordinary and transportive immersive installation comprising eleven transformed rooms across the hidden upper level and ballroom of Flinders Street Station.

All set within a mid-century time capsule, the art experience like no other opened in October 2022 and will run until Sunday, April 23 2023. To celebrate the final weekend of this exhibition (which is seen sold-out sessions months in advance), Geelong Contemporary will be hosting an exclusive event: Talking Art: RONE | TIME.

Geelong-born artist Rone unlocks ‘Time’ with a new immersive installation in Flinders Street Station’s mysterious ballroom

Geelong Contemporary – a group of external contemporary art enthusiasts and collectors driven by its own core collective, supported by the Geelong Gallery Director and key staff – invite keen artists and art lovers to meet and hear from the creative team behind this exceptional installation and enjoy after-hours access with drinks and canapes on the final weekend of the exhibition.

Set in the long-abandoned third-floor wing of Flinders Street Station, TIME is a nostalgic love letter to mid-century Melbourne and a tribute to one of the city’s great icons. Created and developed across the past three years, this truly exceptional site-specific experience is Rone’s most ambitious project to date. Profoundly atmospheric, TIME captures both the grand scale and character of the site and the minute detail of a period of Melbourne’s history long lost to progress.

If you haven’t already been this is your chance to ensure you don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If you have already visited TIME or booked to go soon, this is your chance to visit again and hear the creative team’s personal accounts of making the immersive, multisensory installation.

A fundraising event, the special evening will take place on Saturday 22 April 2023, from 6.30pm to 8.00pm, with tickets on sale now
