Sorrento Writers Festival returns for its second edition this April

Sorrento Writers Festival, April 25-28, 2024, is an opportunity for the literary community to learn through workshops, discussions, and performances.

Mark your calendars and sharpen your pencils – the Sorrento Writers Festival is back for its second edition, set to ignite the Mornington Peninsula from April 25th to 28th. Following the resounding success of its debut in 2023, this literary event promises a jam-packed itinerary celebrating the finest voices in Australian literature, academia, and community leadership.

Nestled amidst the charming locales of Sorrento and Portsea, the Festival will unfold across 10 distinctive venues, including the iconic Continental Sorrento, the Sorrento Portsea RSL, the Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club, and the Sorrento Golf Club.

With over 100 events featuring more than 150 speakers, the Sorrento Writers Festival boasts an impressive roster of wordsmiths. Expect to be captivated by the insights of esteemed luminaries such as Miles Franklin Award winners Alex Miller, Anna Funder, and Amanda Lohrey. Joining them are award-winning authors Kate Grenville, David Marr, Magda Szubanski, and many more, offering a diverse tapestry of literary discourse.
