Geelong's vibrant creative hub, Parallax, is gearing up to host an evening of live music and community spirit this weekend, all in aid of raising awareness and funds for mental health services in the area.
Owned and operated by Lauren Whiteley, Parallax is renowned for its photography studio and bustling events space. Whiteley, driven by a passion for community support, saw an opportunity to utilise Parallax’s platform to champion mental health awareness.
The event, aptly titled ‘Gig with a Cause,’ promises to be an evening filled with local talent, camaraderie, and positive vibes taking place on Saturday, 23 March at the space at 46 Douro Street North Geelong.

Whiteley expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “We at Parallax are so passionate about spreading awareness, love and support in our community,” she said. “It’s a topic close to home for many of us and we want to share our space to do some good. “The night will consist of live local musicians, a prize raffle from local artists and small businesses, a sausage sizzle and all round good vibes.
“We encourage all to come along, enjoy some of Geelong’s finest talent, grab a ticket in the raffle and meet some new people or reconnect with some friends you haven’t seen for awhile.”
Attendees can look forward to live performances by Geelong’s finest musicians, including Hassall, Stefan West, Prod.Gaz, Jack Fitzgerald, Spooky Fruit, Etta Lane, and JuiceBoxx. Moreover, the event will feature a raffle boasting an array of enticing prizes generously donated by local artists and businesses.
Among the prizes up for grabs are artworks from local talents such as Joshua De Hoog and Diva Scum, along with contributions from small businesses in the area.
The ‘Gig with a Cause’ is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, commencing at 5.30 pm at Parallax, located at 46 Douro Street, North Geelong.
