For whatever the reason, we really love sitting in a dark room, melting into plush comfy chairs , not saying a word to anyone, going to town on the snacks and watching a movie on the big screen. There’s just something about a good movie sesh, and finally, after months of restrictions, Readings Cinemas at Waurn Ponds will recommence operations from Monday June 22.
There will be a couple of changes to your post-COVID cinema experience, with session times staggered and capacity reduced in line with social distancing requirements aimed at protecting staff and patrons.
The one person per four square metre rule will be enforced and people who do not live in the same household will need to remain at least 1.5 metres apart – so you can sit with your family, but you won’t be next to other bookings.
With the spaced-out session times, the Readings team have increased the length of cleaning inside the auditoriums, with high priority for high touch points in common areas, such as cinema seats, armrests, cup holders, bathrooms, handrails, doors, point of sale equipment and counter tops.
