Filled with fond fashion memories, Clothed In Memory is full of moments where familiarity meets the unexpected.

Released independently and marking Taylor’s first step into the publishing world, this entrancing, carefully curated paperback book is a glimpse into the lives of some of Australia’s most famous faces, with a few international guests included for good measure.

In a sheer example of dedication and passion, the project has been a decade-long affair for Taylor, having spent years contacting, interviewing and writing stories about the iconic outfits and sentimental pieces of the country’s loved celebrities.

From swimmer and actor Murray Rose, athlete Cathy Freeman, artist John Coburn, and actor Tony Bonner, to renowned musicians Kate Ceberano, Kim Wilde, Petula Clark, Jackie Trent and fashion designers Christian Lacroix, Zandra Rhodes and British designer Bruce Oldfield, Clothed In Memory sees up to 80 celebrities share an item of clothing that signifies a special moment in their life. Each individual, all worthy of inclusion by their own merit, relate tales about all kinds of garments, including overalls, hats, sports outfits and swimsuits.

Filled with both photographs and musings from the featured faces and illustrations from Taylor, the book provides a healthy dose of pop-culture nostalgia, with the ability to serve as an inspiration and double as decoration.

You can find Clothed In Memory at various Victorian bookstores, including Collins Booksellers, or purchase direct from Taylor via [email protected]
