Despite the rain and main stage closure, Loch Hart Music Festival proved itself an exciting staple for Victorian festival goers

Created as an opportunity to showcase local up-and-coming Australian talent and the very aesthetically pleasing Great Ocean Road (and all its treasures), launching with just 500 guests back in 2018, Loch Hart Music Festival has quickly become one of Victoria’s best boutique festivals over the last couple of years. Creating a festival with all the elements that punters desire and a unique ability to build a community over three days, the festival has continuously managed to find the perfect blend of acts to please a large crowd while maintaining an intimate, grassroots feel.

Returning for its fifth edition in 2024, the festival is gearing up for three utterly magical days of music, arts, comedy and more this January, and this time, they’re making it one affordable price!

“I started working on the festival in 2016. My dream was to create an event with all my favourite elements from other festivals: A multi-day camping festival, one stage with no clashes, BYO, only the best live acts and all with an affordable ticket price,” festival director Jayden Bath says.

“It took two years to host the first Loch Hart, and it’s been a wild five years since. We doubled in size from year one to year two, cancelled twice, ran during the peak of Omicron, and our latest during the biggest storm I have ever seen. But here we are, and we are doing it again 12-14 January 2024. However, we know times are tough. There is a cost of living crisis and most events are more expensive than ever before.

“So, like Loch Hart does in many ways, we are going against the grain. This year, we have reduced our ticket price down to $199. There is no extra fee for camping or car parking, and we are fully BYO. Loch Hart may be the most affordable three-day camping festival in Australia, and we aren’t skipping a beat on quality.”

And of course, Loch Hart Music Festival is not compromising on quality, offering an incredible lineup that includes:

  • 25+ Musical Acts
  • 5 Comedians
  • Guest Speaker
  • BYO + Bar
  • Local Food Trucks
  • Ocean Views
  • Glamping
  • Morning Yoga
  • Outdoor Cinema

As for the music, the festival has already started drip-feeding the lineup, with ARIA Award winning recording artist and singer Joanne, Raging Moby, M E L T, Girl and Girl, Misty Harlowe, The Belair Lip Bombs, Children Collide, Sandy Dish, BEANS, and Alien Nosejob. There’s also the Loch Hart ‘By Night’ lineup curated by Milo Eastwood featuring Adriana, Dameeeela, Joanne, Milo Eastwood, Mzrizk, O Honey, Teymori and Tornado Wallace.

With a history of triumphs and challenges, Loch Hart Music Festival is gearing up for its grand return, inviting festival-goers to join in the celebration of music, arts, and laughter against the stunning backdrop of the Great Ocean Road. Secure your spot for an unforgettable experience, and remember, the best things in life come at an affordable price.
