Meet Spinnin’ Juice, a new online shop that sells record-and-wine bundles from Igni’s Aaron Turner

The renowned Geelong chef is curating wine and record bundles.

Every single thing Aaron Turner – the man behind Geelong’s best dining spots, Igni, Tacos Y Liquor and The Hot Chicken Project – touches turns to gold, and his latest hustle simply proves this theory once more.

With a passion for food and wine already well taken care of, the award-winning chef is now diving into his third passion of music, giving music lovers an inventive new way to buy records.

Keep up with the latest food and booze news via our website.

Dubbed Spinnin’ Juice, Turner has created an online shop that sells record-and-wine bundles, delivered directly to music lovers’ doorsteps. A commitment-free wine and record club, it’s all about good juice and good tunes whenever you want ’em!

Conceived while sitting at home drinking wine and spinning records during Victoria’s lockdown, Turner is pairing a diverse collection of vinyl with a particular wine according to the mood and overall vibe of the music.

The collection of vinyl records rotates regularly while wines are mostly natural-leaning picks from The Hot Chicken Project.

Spanning everything from old-school thrash and indie-rock, to country and rock, you’ll find records from the likes of Morbid Angel, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, John K Samson, Sonic Youth and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

If you opt for Morbid Angel, for example, Turner has decided to colour match record and wine, pairing the record with a co-ferment of Riesling and Semillon grown on flint and limestone before being de-stemmed and pressed and left for 8 months in barrel, bottled and left for a further 12 months to do its thing.

Death Metal and Grapes gone wild!

Currently, Spinnin’ Juice is run through an Instagram page with a Shopify link to buy the bundles. Pricing varies depending on what you’re getting, but most bundles sit at less than $100 for the most part.
