I now pronounce you – by the powers vested in me by the festival gods – man and wife.
At least, that’s how we imagine things will be going down when a giant inflatable wedding chapel comes to Beyond The Valley for their next incarnation.
The Inflatable Church in question has toured the globe and is famously responsible for the wedding of Kelly Osbourne at Electric Picnic Festival and Jake Sheers of the Scissor Sisters at Bestival.
The church itself holds the Guinness Book of World Record’s first inflatable church, standing 10m high and 6m wide. Since 2004, the festival church been helping punters across Europe into their Sunday best, sprinkling them in glitter and getting them hitched.
The Inflatable Church’s very own brand of ‘priest’ leads each ceremony, with vowels, speeches, kissing, tears, certificate, dance-offs, and whatever else they can convince the congregation to do.
Of course, it isn’t legally binding. That would be ridiculous. Most festival-goers will be far too cooked to make those type of decisions.
Beyond The Valley 2016 goes down from Wednesday December 28 – Sunday January 1 in Lardner Park, about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Melbourne. Tickets on sale now via their website.
