Something to look forward to.
Dark beers are serious business: they are dark – sometimes almost black – and feature a heavily roasted flavour profile, pretty much making it the perfect brew in the smack dab of winter.
Malty, musty, rich or creamy, stouts and porters fill the void caused by winter’s chills and our favourite little taproom is hosting an event that’s sure to appeal to those that love a decadent dark beer with a side of blues music.
Valhalla Brewing and Taproom – a carefully crafted space to showcase their seriously delicious and addictive range of beers that are some of the best local brews we’ve tasted – is hosting a three-day dark beer and blues music festival in June where they will showcase Australian Independent dark beers as well as local, live blues and roots music.
Talk about a win-win!?
Valhalla’s eight taps will feature dark beers from breweries such as Yullis, Revel Brewing, 10 Toes, La Sirene, Valhalla Brewing, Woolshed and Helios Brewing with brews like chocolate ales, Black IPAs, aged stouts, Vanilla Porters and Imperial Stouts, among others.
As for the music, you’ll be able to enjoy the indulgent nature of blues and roots music with the likes of Alistair Turrill, Bill Barber, and Jack Meredith taking to the mic, all names that Forté knows and love! Blues inspired vinyl will also be spinning throughout the weekend.
Whether or not you’re a fan of dark beer, the lineup is reason enough to go check it out.
And the best news of all is that it’s free entry all weekend. So you can just stroll on in and get your dose of dark beers and quality live tunes.
It all goes down Queens Birthday Weekend, June 11 – June 13 at Valhalla Taproom, located at 12-14 Union Street. Check out the event here.
