Everyone loves a good cupcake. Whether you’re a loyal chocolate fan, or you’ve converted to the red velvet, Nutella, or salted caramel camps, you are probably — like us — always on the hunt for that perfect cupcake.
While we’ll never complain about eating a cupcake, only a select few cupcakes can be classified as superior, crème de la crème and worth dreaming about – and Geelong’s Baked By Us is where you’ll find some good ones, especially when they’re free.

Bringing a dash of sweetness to your Wednesday this week, the beloved cupcakery is giving away 500 mini cupcakes tomorrow, on Wednesday, July 6 to celebrate the launch of new range available to purchase online.
From 10am until sold out, the sweet humans will be handing out free mini cupcakes to anyone (one per person) that makes their way in store. You don’t even need to make a purchase (although trust us, after you have that one bite of your free mini you’ll be craving more).
“We are giving away 500 FREE MINI CUPCAKES TOMORROW!!!,” the store shared to Facebook this evening.
“We want to sprinkle a bit of happiness though the community while we celebrate the launch of the happiest cupcakes joining our online store – Yellow Rainbow & Yellow Fairybread.
“There is no obligation to make a purchase – however if you like you can join our “happiness project” running tomorrow by adding writing or drawing something that makes you happy to our canvas that will be in store.”

This isn’t the first time this store has spread good vibes through the community. With the desire to sprinkle love across the community at its core, Baked By Us kickstarted a ‘pay it forward’ movement across the town back in 2020, at the height of lockdown, delivering boxes of cupcakes to those who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The cupcakery (which already supports young people who have a disability to gain workplace skills and experience) revealed that they would deliver six-packs of cupcakes to locals who have been deeply impacted in the last few months or days due to Covid, in an attempt to make a positive impact on the community. To nominate someone to receive the cupcakes, followers simply had to leave a love heart emoji in the comments, for the names to then be chosen at random. The person contacted would then share the address of a local they think needs a small, anonymous act of kindness sent their way.
It’s a simple deed and it struck a chord with many in the community, who began paying it forward by purchasing boxes of cupcakes to be donated within the community, so much so that the cupcakery has continued to run the movement still to this day.
