The pair was recently approached to take over Wayne’s World of Music in North Geelong after its beloved owner, Wayne, passed away unexpectedly. Wayne was a good mate of James’, and the family reached out to him to carry on Wayne’s legacy.
Fast forward to mid-December, and James and Jack have been hard at work transforming the space at 171 Melbourne Road (just across from North Geelong train station) into a haven for music lovers. They’re gearing up to open the doors very soon, with plans for a big launch party later on (details to come).
What can you expect from the new store? Well, for starters, There & Back Again Records will be home to over 10,000 vinyl records, thousands of CDs, an amazing collection of cassettes, and some top-notch Hi-Fi equipment. Whether you’re into Jazz, Metal, or anything in between, they’ve got something for every kind of music fan. From the classics of the ’50s to the freshest tracks today, you’ll find it all. And if you’re lucky, you might even find that rare gem you’ve been searching for.
James and Jack aren’t just about selling records—they’re also passionate about keeping the local music community alive and well. With over 15 years of experience in the Geelong music scene, they’ve got big plans for the future. Expect regular in-store gigs and events that showcase the creativity and energy of the region.
And don’t worry—There & Back Again Records at the Mill Markets will still be rocking, too, with over 5000 records available for browsing.
If you’ve got a record collection you’re ready to part with, James and Jack are always keen to buy! Plus, you can count on fresh stock being added to the store every week.
