The Grampians Peaks Trail Race from 23 to 26 November 2023 is a new 100 mile trail ultra that follows the Grampians Peaks Trail (GPT), the newest world class trail situated in the Grampians National Park.

The Grampians region is gearing up to host an extraordinary endurance running event this spring with the incredible GPT 100 Miler – the answer to your search for the most epic, spectacular trail race destination.

Taking place from November 23-26, the race follows the Grampians Peaks Trail (GPT), the newest world class trail situated in Gariwerd, the Grampians National Park – a 164km trail with 7,702 metres of elevation from Mt Zero in the north to Dunkeld in the south. The GPT passes through the rugged, stunning and varied terrain that the Grampians is famous for.

This epic race has already attracted the most competitive field ever assembled in Australia for an event spanning over 100 miles. The inaugural GPT 100 Miler offers competitors the choice of tackling the grueling 158km trail either continuously, or over a four-day stage race format, with the option of a team relay in both formats.

The race begins at Mt Zero in the North and culminates in Dunkeld in the South. Additionally, there’s a 50km option for those who wish to experience the breathtaking Grampians Peaks Trail in a shorter format.

As runners traverse remote wilderness, they will encounter 12 campsites, each featuring stunning huts strategically placed along the route in the most secluded spots.

The central township of Halls Gap will serve as the event’s basecamp and headquarters for five days, promising a positive economic impact on local businesses and accommodation providers.

The GPT 100 Miler caters to every trail runner with a quest to accomplish, achieve and experience the best that Australian wilderness has to offer.
