The Geelong Wine Walk returns for 2023

Start your Saturday right this summer by sipping, savouring and strolling from location to location amongst wine-loving friends.

The much-loved APCO Foundation Geelong Wine Walk is officially returning to the thirsty city of Geelong in 2023, gifting locals and tourists alike the perfect way to spend a Sunny Saturday afternoon.

Taking place on Saturday, February 11 2023, the annual event will once again see the streets, laneways and footpaths of Geelong CBD come alive as a handpicked selection of Geelong’s best waterfront venues open their doors, transforming into the ultimate cellar door experience with some of our region’s finest wineries, distilleries and breweries on show.

Keep up with the latest food and booze news across the region here.

The annual event will see attendees visit eight great venues this year along the glorious Geelong Waterfront, including Sailors’ Rest, Royal Geelong Yacht Club, The Wharf Shed, Fishermen’s Pier, The Giant Sky Wheel, The Boat House, The Inn and The Hygeia Boat.

Wine Walkers can enjoy a self-guided tour at their own leisure and sample the wares of an exciting list of producers including BAIE Wines, Burnt Acre Wines, Blackman’s Brewery, Bank’s Road to name a few.

Each of the participating venues will be matched with different producers for multiple tastings as you make your way along the Waterfront and to The Inn, where you can sit and enjoy the live entertainment or converse with the representatives from each local producer.

Not only does buying a ticket get you entry to all gorgeous venues to explore, substantial canapes at each venue, live music, and tasting for all wineries, distilleries and breweries involved, but all profits go to the APCO Foundation – a foundation established in 2013 by the Anderson sisters that has donated over one million dollars back into the communities around the APCO stores.

The APCO Foundation has recently donated over $90,000 directly to 17 families and individuals, affected by the Shepparton floods and this support was delivered within days of the crisis. Helping people quickly, is what makes the APCO Foundation so special and unique.

“The APCO Foundation works tirelessly to raise money for those in our community who need support, the Geelong Wine Walk is our biggest fundraiser for the year and we are so excited to be back in 2023,” says Sharon Gleeson, the Foundation’s Chair.

Your ticket to the Geelong Wine Walk will include tastings, canapes and exciting live entertainment at all eight venues, as well as your own tasting glass and tote bag.

What better way to start your weekend (and 2022) than with a walk – and one which involves wine. Gather your friends for this self-guided tasting tour and help raise money for the people who need it most.

Tickets are $120 per person (includes tastings, canapes and exciting live entertainment at all eight venues, as well as your own tasting glass and tote bag) and the day goes from 11am to 5pm. Bookings can be made here.
