The Bennies’ ‘Wisdom Machine’ tour rolls on. Following a handful of dates earlier in the year, the band packed their bags and headed abroad for a bunch of dates in Germany and the UK in order to show off their lovely album, the aforementioned Wisdom Machine. And what a lovely time the band has been having.
The album debuted at #40 on the ARIA Album Chart and #10 on the Australian Chart, drawing the attention of Less Than Jake’s Vinnie Fiorello, who released the album in the UK and US. Their tour abroad, meanwhile, included a spot at Belgium’s Groezrock festival on a bill featuring Rancid, Sum 41 and Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls, as well as fellow Aussies Northlane, Clowns and Hellions.
Then there are the reviews, with Rolling Stone Australia writing: “The Bennies genuflect at the shrine of partying more than John Belushi and Andrew WK combined. Wisdom Machine is belligerently raucous, relentlessly delivering good times and accentuating their usual horn flecked party punk with electronic flourishes…”
All in all, I can’t fathom why you wouldn’t check them out. The Karova, Ballarat – June 26 & Music Man, Bendigo – July 3.
