Tessa Lyes and Joseph van der Hurk to Perform at Real Vinyl Music

Please make welcome a couple of our lovely cousins when New Zealand’s Tessa Lyes and Joseph van der Hurk take to Geelong’s Real Music Vinyl on February 19.

Originally from Hokitika on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South island, Tessa is currently based in Queenstown. Her music has been said to bring to mind artists including Patti Smith and Florence and the Machine. Joseph is a travelling troubadour from Dunedin, whose voice has been compared to Jake Bugg and King Charles.

The pair has collaborated on the single ‘Hook, Line and Sinker’. Joining them on a night of warm tunes will be local singer­songwriter Kyle Taylor. Two Zealanders and an Aussie walk into a bar…
