Chet Faker rose to stardom on the Australian music scene in 2012 when he dropped extended play Thinking In Textures. The EP which included a cover of Blackstreet’s ‘No Diggity’ bolstered significant recognition, including Faker winning Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Thinking in Textures winning Best Independent Single/EP at the Australian Independent Records Awards. In January 2013, the work won Best Independent Release at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards for 2012. He went on to release iconic album Built On Glass, an album which will be celebrated during his exclusive Live At The Gardens performance.

The one-night-only performance will include the Botanic String Section celebrating the ten-year anniversary of Built On Glass, an album that saw three tracks in the Top 10 of 2014’s triple j’s hottest 100 with ‘Talk Is Cheap’ claiming the number one spot. Chet Faker has become one of Australia’s most celebrated songwriters of the last 10 years as a five-time ARIA award winning artist, who’s topped the charts in 8 countries and clocked more than one billion streams. Chet Faker will be joined by Mildlife and Phoebe Go for the special performance.

Turning to the Sunday night, a fellow Australian artist will be celebrated. Tash Sultana will be playing an exclusive Australian-only performance, their first Victorian headline concert since 2022. Tash Sultana is a multi-award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer and entrepreneur, creating, composing, engineering and producing everything that is heard live and on record. From their 2016 one-person-band breakthrough with ‘Jungle’, a track that peaked at number two on the triple j hottest 100 of the same year, Sultana has solidified their space in the Australian scene. In 2018 they released their debut album Flow State, followed in 2021 by their acclaimed second album, Terra Firma, debuting at number one on the ARIA album chart. Tash will be joined by special guests Coterie, South Summit and Little Green for the Live At The Gardens show.

The two shows add to the already lively series of concerts presented by Roundhouse Entertainment and Always Live. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, Live At The Gardens will launch in November 2024 over two magical weekends. Shows already announced include The Presets with Midnight Juggernauts (DJ set), Haiku Hands and DJ Joey Lightbulb on Friday 15 November; Matt Corby with Middle Kids and Lotte Gallagher on Saturday 16 November; and Xavier Rudd with Emily Wurramara and Calypso Cora on Saturday 23 November.
