The three-time ARIA Award-winning group will be celebrating their seventh studio album The Sun, which dropped on Friday, August 27.

An album that provides solace in this age of disquiet, The Sun thematises contemplation, healing, and fortitude across its 12 explosive tracks. The latest offering ‘Know Yourself’ featuring Armidale up-and-comer Fergus James is the epitome of the positivity that flows through The Sun, this time looking to the past as Bliss recalls how, as a kid he was bullied.

“In ‘Know Yourself’ I’m an older version of myself speaking to the younger version of myself and saying, ‘Hey, everything’s gonna be cool, man – just know who you are as a person and don’t let any of that get to you, because you’re going to look back on that and laugh’.”

Similarly, ‘Daddy’s Caddy’ is an ode to Bliss and Eso’s respective partners, while the poetic, piano-laden ‘Lost With You’ (spotlighting dynamic electro-popster BOI) extols unpretentious pleasures and domestic tranquillity. Of course, there is also single ‘Good People’ with ARIA Hall of Famer Kasey Chambers, where Bliss n Eso address the value in strong support networks.

The Sun is the massive follow up to 2017’s critically-acclaimed ARIA #1 album Off The Grid, which featured the trio’s triple-platinum smash-hit single ‘Moments (feat. Gavin James)’ (which unsurprisingly garnered over 60+ million streams and winner of ARIA’s Best Music Video Award).

With their last three albums debuting at #1, selling close to half a million records in Australia alone and landing various prestigious awards and accolades, The Sun sees them return to the forefront with an album that nods to their biggest hits while ultimately transcending era and bridging generational divides.

In what is a truly national tour, the group will take their new tracks, their electric energy and unmatchable flow to audiences in every Australian state and territory throughout January to April.

“We have been busy working away on this new album for some time now,” the group said in an official statement.

“Being able to perform these new songs live on stage with you beautiful people in the crowd is the ultimate reward. We’ve got so many new bangers on this album that we can’t wait to take for a spin for the first time with you guys.

“Those new tracks combined with all our classics is gonna be one hell of a ride. We’re gonna tear the roof off and send it to the sun!”

The Sun is out now and tickets for ‘The Sun Tour’ go on sale to general public Monday 6 September. Bliss n Eso will hit up The Torquay Hotel on Friday, February 25 2022.
