Supanova is Whittlesea’s $8M, nine-storey high zero-gravity waterslide worth the roadtrip

Travel at light speed through a kaleidoscope of colour on Funfields new mind blowing intergalactic waterslide Supanova.

If you love waterparks and a thrill, the Supanova is the new(ish) mind-blowing intergalactic waterslide at Funfields in Whittlesea worth the trip this year.

Located about an hour from Melbourne’s CBD at Victoria’s biggest theme park (15.7-hectares), the new nine-storey-high, 250-metre-long waterslide experience is the result of $8 million and 18 months of works.

Keep up with the latest in local news and entertainment here.

The first of its kind in the world, the hybrid waterslide combines positive, zero G forces, colour effects and high-speed banking exploding into a mind-blowing 60-foot funnel. Add in a flying saucer and translucent-coloured rings and it’s all one hell of a ride.

“We wanted to give our guests the most exhilarating waterpark experience in the world,” Funfields operations manager Stephen Philp said in a statement.

“And what we received back doesn’t disappoint. Supanova … gives the feeling of actual weightlessness with zero g-force, which generates some serious fun for between two and four guests at a time.

“The actual speed at which you travel depends on the total weight of the participants, but I can guarantee that it’s fast.”

Once you’ve taken on the Supanova, explore the rest of the huge park with the Volcano Beach Heated Wave pool and 3 ProSlide World Record Waterslides; Kraken Racer, Typhoon and Gravity Wave, plus heaps more.

Funfields is located at 2365 Plenty Road, Whittlesea. Tickets are free for kids under 100 centimetres. Book online.
