A weekend of heart-pumping, adrenaline-fuelled Formula 1 action is just around the corner with the Australian F1 Grand Prix descending upon Albert Park from 30 March to 2 April 2023.
Promising to deliver the biggest (and fastest) on-track offering ever, with an entertainment program that includes something for everyone from music lovers to families and motorsport superfans, this will be the place to be as the likes of Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Perez battle it out for this year’s drivers’ title.
Keep up with the latest in local news and entertainment here.
While there’s plenty of action around the picturesque Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit, especially with new track modifications promising more speed, more overtakes, more action and more thrills, there’s also a swathe of fun things to do beyond watching the race.
The Music (M Lane)
Fans attending the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit will be entertained by some of Australia’s biggest talents, who will take the Main Stage each night.
Head in on Saturday for an electric Heineken Saturday at the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2023 main stage, with award-winning artist, Hayden James headlining the Saturday night post-track action alongside fellow Australian electronic dance groups, Crooked Colours (DJ Set) and Kinder.
With hit singles ‘Better Together’ and ‘Just Friends’ alongside a catalogue of energetic and feel-good dance music that’s collected over half a billion streams, James is coming off his biggest global headlining tour and festival run to date, including his debut at Coachella in 2022.
No strangers to the local and international festival circuits, Perth-based alternative dance trio, Crooked Colours will bring their platinum singles ‘Flow’ and ‘Do It Like You’ to Heineken® Saturday on the main stage while Sydney’s sister duo, Kinder will round out the electrifying line-up with their high energy, hybrid DJ/vocal live show and party anthems, including their recent Triple J Like a Version rendition of Nelly Furtado’s ‘Say It Right’.
“I’m a massive fan of the F1 and so pumped to head to Melbourne for the race. Catch me at the main stage on Heineken Saturday for a bloody great time,” says Hayden James.
The main stage will also feature The Jungle Giants (Friday) and Birds of Tokyo (Sunday).
Free for everyone with a Park Pass (GA), Grandstand Ticket or Hospitality Experience, the Main Stage will be the place to be after the racing wraps up every day.
Heineken’s Player 0.0
The good humans over at Heineken® has launched an integrated gaming initiative with Player 0.0 which you’ll find in the M Lane precinct.
Player 0.0 is a national Sim Racing tournament that created with two-time F1 World Champion and avid gamer, Max Verstappen. Seeking to unite Aussie F1® fans through their shared love of the sport, Heartbreak High actor, Josh Heuston and gaming queen, Stephanie ‘Hex’ Bendixsen are also behind the initiative that invites Aussies to race around a virtual F1® racetrack.
The launch of Heineken®’s Australian Player 0.0 coincides with research from the brand that has revealed the different fan groups that have formed following the surge in popularity in Formula 1 in recent years. Because so many new Aussies have become fans of the sport in the last four years alone – 35% being male and a whopping 65% female – a shared love for F1® has also brought many Aussies closer together.
