Jules Verne, the man who penned Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and Around the World in Eight Days, is also responsible for Journey to the Center of the Earth, which tells the story of the Baltimore Gun Club, a post-American Civil War band of weapons enthusiasts and their attempt to build a rocket to launch three people to the moon.
Three Gold Coast dudes pinched the name Baltimore Gun Club to help champion their stoner rock. They coined the term ‘Groner’ (a combination of grunge, rock and stoner) to help describe their sound to those pesky folk who ask that inevitable question. ‘Apollo’ is their new single.
