Darwin's favourite beachside music festival returns for 2023 if you're looking for an epic getaway.
BASSINTHEGRASS, the NT’s biggest and longest running all-ages music festival, is back for 2023 and has announced a massive lineup for its 20th year, taking place on May 20 2023.
A Darwin rite of passage, the festival has seen some of the country’s biggest acts perform to sold out crowds and its upcoming edition looks to be no different, featuring a swathe of Australia’s best acts, including Tones and I, Baker Boy, The Presets, Spacey Jane and Guy Sebastian.

Returning to the seaside location at Mindil Beach (famous for its stellar sunsets) on Larrakia country, the single day event will also feature esteemed acts like Ocean Alley, Amy Shark, Hooligan Hefs, Angus & Julia Stone, San Cisco, Jack Botts and more.

The sold out 2022 event welcomed close to 16,000 people to Darwin’s Mindil Beach on Larrakia country for 12 hours of non-stop music from the nation’s hottest acts, including Vera Blue, Xavier Rudd, Hilltop Hoods and The Teskey Brothers.
Heading into its 20th year, BASSINTHEGRASS 2022 is shaping up to be another unforgettable event with a slew of acts set to light up two stages in what is arguably one of the Top End’s most stunning locations.
Festival organisers, the N.T. Major Events Company, are encouraging festival-goers to make the most of their time in Darwin by including a $50 Travello voucher with every ticket purchase which can then be redeemed for a Territory tourist experience. From walking through a 440-million-year-old canyon to eating dinner under the outback stars or hugging a croc, there’s something for everyone.
