Slowly Slowly, Kisschasy lead new Melbourne festival Homegrown

Home is where the heart is, and this March in Melbourne home is where an insatiable lineup of Victorian acts will descend on PICA.

This March, the beats of Melbourne’s homegrown talent will resonate louder than ever at PICA (Port Melbourne Industrial Centre for the Arts) with the launch of HOMEGROWN, a brand-new festival boasting an all-star lineup of local acts.

Presented by Destroy All Lines, HOMEGROWN promises a day packed on Saturday 16 March with stellar performances from some of Victoria’s finest musical talents, including Slowly Slowly, Kisschasy, Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers, Waax, Void of Vision, Tooslow, Enola, and Hassall.

Slowly Slowly, known for their heartfelt lyricism and infectious melodies, will take the stage, fresh off the success of their chart-topping album “Daisy Chain.” Joining them are iconic Aussie rockers Kisschasy, who have kept their scorching legacy burning bright with smash hits like “Opinions Won’t Keep You Warm At Night” and “Do-Do’s And Woahh’s.”

Straight out of Canberra, Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers will bring their riot grrrl-inspired energy, while Brisbane’s Waax, led by the charismatic Marie DeVita, promise a high-octane experience of alt-rock and post-punk vibes.

Meanwhile, Void of Vision will showcase their innovative heavy sound, Tooslow will offer up a dose of nostalgic pop-punk, and Enola will deliver a unique blend of grunge and gaze.

Melbourne singer-songwriter Hassall will enchant audiences with her lush sensibilities and relatable lyrics, while Emo Never Sleeps DJs will keep the vibes pumping throughout the day.

Supported by the Victorian Government’s Live Music Restart Program, HOMEGROWN is set to be a celebration of Melbourne’s vibrant music scene and a testament to the talent flourishing within the city.
