Applications open for Geelong Arts Centre’s Creative Engine grants, designed for local creatives with bold ideas.

If you’re an artist or creative based in the G21 region with an innovative project in mind, now’s the time to act! Geelong Arts Centre’s Creative Engine is currently accepting applications for its latest round of grants, but you’d better hurry – the deadline is looming.

With up to $24,000 in financial grants and an additional $35,000 worth of studio access at the iconic Ryrie Street building up for grabs, these grants aim to support individuals and organisations in their pursuit of groundbreaking work.

Here’s what’s on offer:

  • IGNITION: Two grants of up to $5,000 each, along with a week-long in-kind studio access for rehearsal.
  • JUMP START: Two grants of up to $3,000 each, also with a week-long in-kind studio access for rehearsal.
  • PLACE TO MAKE: Three months of in-kind studio access or five days of in-kind desk access in Merge co-working space.

Applications must demonstrate alignment with the program’s three selection criteria: Connection, Innovation & Thoughtfulness. And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the studio rehearsal period, which must be completed during the allotted weeks.

The Creative Engine team encourages cross-genre projects and supports diversity within the arts community, including the d/Deaf and Disabled community. Additional funds are available for access costs, with priority given to artists connected to the G21 region.

But time is running out! Applications close at 9 am on Monday 12th February 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by Monday 19th February 2024.

So, if you’ve got a creative spark waiting to ignite, seize this opportunity before it’s gone.
