Save the date: The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach returns to Torquay this April

As the legend goes, “You’ve got to win it to ring it!”

The World Surf League is returning to Bells Beach, for the 60th Anniversary of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by Bonsoy, the longest-running event on the World Surf League’s elite Championship Tour.

Marking the first stop of the Australian leg of the WSL Championship Tour, the event will continue its tradition of falling on Easter weekend from April 4-14 2023.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here.

Each year the world’s best surfers descend on Bells Beach in the hope of winning this prestigious event and having the chance to ring the prized Bell trophy in the carpark. Other contests might have bigger waves and more prize money, but Bells is the one they all want to win.

Bells Beach means history and heritage for both world surfing and Australian sport.

Since 1962 surfers from around Australia have descended on Torquay each Easter weekend to watch the first surfers in the world compete in one of the most iconic waves in the world. Last year was the first year back for the competition, following on from the cancellation of the event in 2021 for the first time in the event’s history.

Remembering ‘Big Saturday’, the most famous day in Rip Curl Bells Beach history

To celebrate the return of the 2023 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, Rip Curl have launched an epic collection featuring the latest artwork of the iconic surf competition held annually at Bells Beach, Victoria, Australia. Show your support for this historic surf event and bring a piece of the action home with our Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach merchandise.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the gate from the first day of the waiting period.
