Whether you’re a seasoned beard aficionado or just starting to grow out your facial hair, there’s a category for everyone:

  • Full Beard Natural (20cm to Infinity)
As nature intended – the bigger, the better! No styling aids allowed, just full, glorious natural growth.
  • Full Beard Natural (10cm to 20cm)
For those who prefer a slightly shorter yet still natural approach to their facial fuzz.
  • Verdi (Styled, 10cm and under)
A more groomed look, with a well-presented short beard or moustache – styling encouraged.
  • Freestyle
Get creative! Whether you want to rock a faux beard or go all out with quirky flair, this is the category for those with a bold imagination. (Prizes and giveaways for the most daring).
  • Moustache
For those who just love a well-groomed top lip. Styling is encouraged for maximum impact.
  • Partial Beard
Got a goatee or some chops? This category is perfect for those with unique facial hair combinations, no matter how unconventional.

The Ballarat Beard and Moustache Union (BBMU) is the group behind the event, and they’re dedicated to supporting the beard and moustache community. Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned facial hair enthusiast, they’re there to offer advice, support, and a sense of camaraderie.
