Prepare to sing your heart out, Piano Bar bring outdoor shows back to the Geelong Racing Club

The outdoor sessions include everything you know and love about Piano Bar.

Following undoubtedly two of the worst years for artists, performers and local businesses, Geelong’s famed Piano Bar is here to reignite that spark with a returning voyage to the great outdoors once restrictions ease, bringing along the unparalleled atmosphere and entertainment that only Geelong’s piano bar delivers.

With live music and events at the helm of this venue and the regular evenings of singing at the top of your lungs to all those guilty pleasures quickly continuously coming to a halt for longer than we ever imagined, the venue has been forced to either adapt or face the consequences a number of times of the past year, pivoting to live-streamed performances, opening pop-ups in the street, collaborating with other local businesses, operating under ridiculously small capacities and even selling gift boxes.

The key takeaways

  • Piano Bar is popping up at the Geelong Race Course in November
  • Launching Friday October 29 and continuing throughout November, the pop up will be able to cater for up to 150 people per session
  • Tickets are on sale now

Signalling the return of live music and entertainment and hopefully, a shift in what will be a consistently positive and bright future, the team at Piano Bar have teamed up with the Geelong Racing Club once more for a month-long pop-up experience bringing a bunch of their revered performances to a ‘Piano Bar Marquee’ (Thanks to the Marquee Guy) at the Mounting yard.

Allowing for a little bit more freedom and the ability to cater to more Victorians than their inner-city venue would allow, the two-hour outdoor sessions include everything you know and love about Piano Bar. The singalongs, the dance floor, the drinks, drags, magicians, vocalists, the requests and the piano – only it will be outdoors, undercover and socially distanced with a fabulously renovated shipping container for a bar.

Launching Friday, October 29th and continuing throughout November, the pop-up will run a supersized ‘Piano Bar XL’ every Friday and Saturday night in November from 6:30pm to 10:30pm, allowing guests to dance the night away with songs from the stellar pianists and vocalists and special appearances from Piano Bar Queens.

Stepping it up in a big way with their commitment to the local entertainment and live music scene, Piano Bar will even be running their famous Pitch, Please! singing and dancing drag shows every Sunday in November, the renowned Bitches With Balls each Wednesday nights complete with three hours of interactive entertainment, drag and campery that you love hosted by stunning Piano Bar Queens, and a special performance from The Sweethearts, the beloved local all-female soul band. One to mark in your diaries, you’ll be able to indulge in their explosive energy and exuberant live show on Thursday, November 25.

Providing an easy option for Christmas catch-ups and well-overdue evenings with mates, there’s the option to take the hassle out of planning by adding our $25pp Chef’s Selection function food package, while the bar and snack menu will be available all night long – and yes, that includes cocktails!

It’s time to support local, get around these absolute legends, and start singing at the top of your lungs to all those guilty pleasures with all your best mates once more.
