Boogie Festival drops first lineup announcement for its 15th edition.

A year after it became one of the first music festivals on the planet to come back in the midst of Covid, the much-loved Boogie festival will be back this Easter at its regular location ‘Our Friend’s Farm’ on the lands of the Taungurung, in Tallarook. To mark its 15th year, Boogie has dropped an absolutely incredible line-up of local and international artists taking to the three-day extravaganza over the Easter weekend, from mid-Friday arvo on April 15 until late on April 17.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Coming straight from the USA are two groups we were going to present in our ill-fated 2020 efforts, Endless Boogie and Howlin’ Rain, who shall both rain guitars and passion over a willing audience. Endless Boogie are local faves – 3RRR named their latest album Album of the Week last June– but Howlin’ Rain have never toured here before, although some will remember mainman Ethan Miller setting the night on fire with his old band Comets on Fire at Golden Plains some years back.

In terms of local produce, Pond, Augie March and rampant risers Tropical Fuck Storm will represent the upper echelons of homegrown music, while the legendary Hard-Ons – playing one of their first gigs with new singer Tim Rogers – will tears your heads off while showing you that even middle-aged men can look great if they have enough tattoos.

And then there are the usual up and comers to get excited about. You’ll find sets from Bad Bangs, Alex Hamilton, Mindy Meng Wang, Quality Used Cars, Rot TV and The Skips from the great state of Victoria, and interstate visitors Jack Davies & The Bush Chooks, Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys and Mylee Grace – all making their first Boogie appearances.

This marks just the first lineup announcement for the Easter festival, will more exciting and colourful acts and happenings due to be announced over the coming weeks to fully complete the Boogie experience. Stay tuned!

Tickets are on sale here. As usual, numbers are capped for comfort.
