Nothing’s as fresh as from the Farmers’ Markets

Grab your hessian bag or your cutest tote: it’s time to start eating local, farm-fresh food. The Golden Plains Farmers’ Market in Bannockburn takes place on the first Saturday of each month (except for January) from 8.30am to 12.30pm and is a genuine farmers’ market accredited with the Victorian Farmers Market Association. The market showcases a fantastic range of farm-fresh, locally grown and homemade produce and is the only VFMA accredited farmers’ market in the Golden Plains and Moorabool Valley regions.

Winner of the Tourism and Hospitality award of the prestigious Geelong Business Excellence Awards in 2017, visitors to the Golden Plains Farmers’ Market are guaranteed an authentic market experience – fabulously fresh food sold and served by the very best farmers, growers and makers the region has to offer. Bannockburn is a lovely small town just north of Geelong and the Golden Plains Farmers’ Market provides a relaxed, country atmosphere for families and friends to shop and have a bite to eat.

Offering fresh vegetables, fine wine, vibrant blooms, artisan breads, local free range meats, cheese, gourmet tarts, sweet treats and much more, the Golden Plains Farmers’ Market is a one-stop-shop for premium, fresh produce and is a key component of the Moorabool Valley Taste Trail. With live music, family entertainment, espresso coffee and the aroma of fresh baking pastries adrift, the market in High Street Bannockburn offers a lively atmosphere for visitors of all ages.

What’s more, for the first time ever, they’re also putting on a twilight edition just before Christmas this year on Thursday December 21 from 4pm! This means locals can stock up on farm-fresh produce for your festive feasts, pick up boutique arts and crafts for your Christmas stockings and even enjoy a chilled craft beer from the Prickly Moses bar! Even if you hate cooking, there’s nothing like a trip to the local farmer’s market to make you marvel at the great produce that is grown around Victoria.
