From being a passionate state finalist in 2017’s RAW Comedy competition merely months after picking up the mic and touring all over the country with his own brand of Aussie larrikin spirit, to losing his way in the comedy world, and resorting to taking his shirt off on stage, sculling beers out of shoes and threatening to bash audience members, Carr’s career took a turn for the worst in 2019.

Becoming synonymous with nudity, debauchery and general drunkenness, Carr decided enough was enough back in May last year, and started a weekly podcast to rebuild his career, one intervention at a time.

Hosted by Jake Smith from the Good Chat Comedy Club, the podcast features an array of Australia’s finest comedians each week – including household names such as Luke Heggie, Mel Buttle and Dilruk Jayasinha – to rally behind Nick, offering support and advice alongside some hard truths.

With 39 candid podcasts joining Carr on a mission to turn him around in time for the festival season of 2021, Carr Crash will be brought to life live on stage this weekend, begging the question if the comedy families’ advice will pay off and create a new comedy superstar, or is this another disaster waiting to happen?

Our advice? Brace for impact.

You can catch Carr Crash at the Imperial Hotel on Friday March 26 at 7pm, on Saturday March 27 at 7pm, and on Sunday, March 28 at 4:30pm. You can buy tickets here. Forte readers can book with the promo code ‘FORTE’ for 25% discount across all events.

Alongside the MICF shows, there will also be a special live podcast recording at The European Bier Café on Sunday, March 28. Perfect for those looking for an early arvo dose of comedy before the working week, this one kicks off at 2:30pm. Tickets for that event here.
