Mahalia Barnes launches the Spotlight Series to raise funds for Australian Red Cross

A nationwide initiative, the series will see a line-up of incredible artists perform in shopping centres across Australia, raising funds for Australian Red Cross to give back to Aussies doing it tough this Christmas and bringing festive joy to struggling families.

Australian singer-songwriter Mahalia Barnes will once again headline the Spotlight Series at a number of Vicinity Centres to give back to local communities while shining a light on local acts and artists.

Curated by Mahalia Barnes, the Spotlight Series will see in-centre performances from notable musicians, including Karise Eden and Reece Mastin, helping to spread festive cheer across the country.

Having already kicked off in Roselands this week, the series will see Karise Eden perform at The Myer Centre Brisbane, QLD on November 30, Mahalia Barnes perform at The Glen, VIC on December 8, Katy Steele perform at Mandurah Forum, WA on December 16 and Reece Mastin perform at Elizabeth City Centre, SA on December 22.

“Aussies have had a difficult few years so, together with Vicinity Centres, we’re bringing joy to this festive season through an incredible lineup of local acts from across the country,” said Mahalia Barnes.

This year, the Spotlight Series will continue to raise much-needed funds for Australian Red Cross. Funds raised will help those facing crisis, hardship, or disaster, making the load a little lighter and their future a little brighter.

“We’re proud to bring back the Spotlight Series after a successful launch last year. Through the series, we continue our support of local communities across Australia and Australian Red Cross, giving back to those who need it most,” said David Henderson, Marketing Director of Vicinity Centres.

In the 2022 Financial Year, Vicinity Centres contributed around $2.9 million worth of donations and in-kind support to local communities. The Spotlight Series will launch nationally across a number of Vicinity Centres from 22 November 2022.
