Horror My Friend Set to Play Karova Lounge

When it came to Horror My Friend’s debut full-length release Stay In, Do Nothing, Melbourne label Poison City Records was only too happy to assist. After all, things have been travelling along pretty nicely for the Adelaide-based post-punk outfit, with acclaimed singles and their 2014 EP A Million Hands winning the favour of those who dig their music a little on the noisy side.

Supports alongside Swervedriver, Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays, Tigers Jaw and The Cribs (UK), not to mention opening for Cold Chisel and Spiderbait at Adelaide’s 2015 V8 Supercars, have done the band no harm, either. Then there is their live show.

In the first half of’15, drummer Sam Kolesnik shared some thoughts with Rip It Up: “I quickly found out there is no such thing as too much fuzz. Pedals were lying everywhere. Cables were strewn across the floor. The practise rooms we set up in were soundproofed but if you listened hard enough, you could hear the other bands rehearsing and recording. This is probably a good point to thank City Calm Down for their collaboration with us on the background noise for our album. Cheers guys!”
