A Fun Day for the Whole Family (And Their Dogs!)
The PAW-TY Zone will be buzzing with excitement, featuring market stalls, face painting, games for the kids, and a roaming entertainer. For the pups, there will be a puppy parlour, treat stalls, and a doggy-themed section of the GAWS Op Shop, where dog lovers can pick up some pet items. Plus, a free pooch parade gives dogs the chance to show off their best tricks, most stylish outfits, and waggiest tails, with special sashes for the winners!
Local personalities and sports stars are also joining in the fun, with Geelong Cats father-son duo Jed and Andrew Bews (with dog Kodi), MasterChef Runner-up Simon Toohey and wife Georgia Radle (with dog Lentil), Krock’s Lauren ‘Loggy’ Temuskos (with dog Wombi), GT Magazine’s Sarah Bieske (with dog Franklin), and former mayor Pete Murrihy (with dog Frankie) all showing up with their beloved pups.
Support a Good Cause
This year’s event is about more than just having fun with your furry friends—it’s also about supporting GAWS’ incredible work in animal welfare. Last year, GAWS cared for 3,383 animals, including 1,263 dogs and puppies. It costs GAWS $65 per day per animal to provide care, essentials, and rehoming support. Profits from the PAWS for GAWS registrations and merchandise sales will go directly to funding GAWS’ vital work.
Get Involved
Registration for the walk is now open at pawsforgaws.org.au, and each registrant will receive a free dog bandana and bumper sticker to proudly display. So, grab your dog’s leash, put on your walking shoes, and head to Eastern Park for a day of fun, community spirit, and support for a great cause.
