Ahead of her appearance at Queenscliff Music Festival this month, BELLA DEER drops new single from her forthcoming EP.
Geelong’s own glorious vocal-viking BELLA DEER returns with new Surf Coast-inspired single, ‘Shipwreck Coast’.
Leaning into her ambient pop atmosphere, the single brings BELLA DEER back to the forefront of her craft. Inspired by the Victorian coastline and famous shipwrecks near Loch Ard Gorge, ‘Shipwreck Coast’ tells the story of being called by the infamous coastline.
“I was driving one night and felt drawn to the coast. When I feel overwhelmed, I find myself there. Coastlines in Victoria hold a strange power, although they’re wild and fierce they’re also healing and a perfect place for contemplation.”

BELLA DEER’s pop-hit single ‘Care Too Much’, of which ‘Shipwreck Coast’ follows, was a finalist in both the 2021 APRA AMCOS Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition and the Nashville-based International Songwriting Competition in 2023. This year, the fire in BELLA DEER’s belly was lit, taking her into international waters to perform at the Ferrara Buskers Festival in Italy further solidifying her international appeal.

The ‘Shipwreck Coast’ single release comes in time for multiple live performances including a local Barwon Club appearance alongside Howlite and a return to the Bellarine’s beloved festival Queenscliff Music Festival.
