Following the grand finale of the 2023 Delightful Days & Matinees series with “Becoming Eliza,” the Geelong Arts Centre is wasting no time in rolling out the red carpet for the exceptional 2024 program. With six outstanding performances scheduled from February to December, the program solidifies its position as the region’s premier daytime entertainment offering.

Kicking off on 14 February, Australian jazz vocalist Tamara Kuldin, accompanied by an ensemble of the country’s finest jazz musicians, will take the stage with “Dear Doris.” This intimate and sentimental journey through Doris Day’s most iconic songs promises an unforgettable experience for jazz enthusiasts.

On 17 April, entertainers Amelia Ryan, Michaela Burger, and Michael Griffith will shine in “Simply Brill,” a joyous celebration of the songwriters who transformed 1960s rock ‘n’ roll forever. The theatrically presented show takes audiences on a thrilling ride with its dynamic blend of history, humour, and heart.

June 5 will see Olivier Awards nominee Bernadette Robinson present “The Songs of Judy Garland.” This special concert will share classic tunes and anecdotes from the extraordinary life of the legendary artist.

On 31 July, Australian jazz favourites, The Syncopators, return to Geelong Arts Centre to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Known for superb musicianship and a keen sense of humour, this promises to be a concert to remember.

October 9 will bring “The Dancin Man” to The Play House stage—a one-man show by Luke Alleva celebrating the men of song and dance that graced stages and screens.

Finally, as the festive season approaches, Australian star Lucy Durack will enchant audiences with “A Merry Little Christmas with Lucy Durack!”—a celebration full of much-loved Christmas classics.

The 2024 Delightful Days & Matinees performances will take place at 11:00 am in Geelong Arts Centre’s iconic proscenium arch theatre, The Play House.
