Minister for Active and Public Transport Gabrielle Williams is ensuring that Swifties across Victoria can reach the concert venue hassle-free, with hundreds of extra train services and an extension of the free tram zone to the MCG.

“For Swifties attending the Eras Tour concerts, public transport is the way to go,” urges Minister Williams, highlighting the convenience of the MCG’s proximity to key train stations like Richmond, Jolimont, and Flinders Street.

To accommodate the influx of concertgoers, approximately 150 metropolitan train services will be added over the three nights of the tour. Additionally, from Friday 16 February to Sunday 18 February, the free tram zone will stretch to the MCG along routes 48, 70, and 75, facilitating the smooth movement of fans along Flinders and Collins Streets to the Melbourne Park precinct.

Not forgetting Swifties travelling from regional areas, extra capacity has been allocated on V/Line train services after each show, ensuring a seamless journey for those coming from Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Seymour, and Traralgon.

However, it’s essential for fans to plan ahead, as disruptions on the Frankston and Belgrave lines are expected due to ongoing level crossing removal works. Replacement buses will operate on affected sections, with shuttle buses provided for closed stations such as Narre Warren, Keon Park, Croydon, and Parkdale.

For those driving, keep in mind that road closures related to the West Gate Tunnel project and other construction works may impact your journey. Wurundjeri Way and Footscray Road are closed in certain sections, while Swanston Street in Carlton will have full road closures affecting motorists and tram services.

To make navigating these changes easier, Swifties can plan their journey using the PTV app or by visiting ptv.vic.gov.au/taylorswift.

“With Taylor Swift’s biggest Australian shows resembling three AFL grand finals back-to-back, we’re encouraging everyone attending to plan ahead and utilise public transport to get to the ‘G,” says Minister Williams, ensuring that Swifties can focus on enjoying the concert without worrying about transportation hassles.
