Elon Musk wants to stream music directly into your brain

WORDS BY Jessica Magtalas

Elon Musk. The man, the myth and the absolute legend.

Now a father to X Æ A-Xii – and yes that’s his son’s name, the American-born entrepreneur certainly wasn’t busy enough. At it again, Musk never shy’s away from new technology, bringing a new meaning to the good ole phrase ‘getting a song stuck in your head’.

Since your favourite streaming sites and $200 AirPods wasn’t enough, the renowned engineer has announced that he’s working on a brain chip that will allow music to be streamed straight to your head.

Forget about flying cars, brain streaming is the new hype.

This new innovation is tied alongside Neuralink, a company founded by Musk in 2016. The start-up company is working towards a brain-computer interface, which will not only let avid music streamers listen to their favourite tunes in their brain…quite literally, but will allow humans to compete with advance artificial intelligence.

Ever dreamed of reliving a 90s sci-fi movie? Well, here’s your chance.

Over the past month, Musk has slowly teased the new project on Twitter, responding to Austin Howard on the new possibility, which undeniably sparked head tilts and anticipation from followers.

While the invention may sound quite out of reach for some, the Neuralink brain-chip “could help control hormone levels and use them to our advantage,” said Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla.

Not just that, but it could potentially be used to aid those suffering from Parkinson’s disease and other neuro illnesses.

Through Musk’s social media, updates on the project will be announced over the coming month on August 28. Stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled to his Twitter for further details.
