Beyond The Valley have just confirmed the dates and location of their special city edition of Beyond The Valley, ‘Beyond The City'.
The Beyond The City summer festival comeback will take place across two days (30 & 31 December) at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the surrounding Kings Domain parklands, with the lineup to be announced soon.
After announcing back in August that the premiere New Year’s festival was intending to pivot from the Valley to the City as a one-off in order to give patrons the best chance of having a New Year’s festival go ahead in a Covid world, the announcement yesterday regarding the 90% vaccination target (which will mean the removal of outdoor density limits) has given the festival the all clear to officially solidify their plans.
Beyond The City will be a fully standing event, with dancing allowed and no pods.

The organisers say to expect two unforgettable days of music and celebration to bring in the New Year, featuring Beyond The Valley’s production and stage designs, synonymous to the BTV experience, with the added view of Melbourne’s cityscape.
Beyond The City have also obtained a special permit from the City of Melbourne to round out the celebrations at 1:30am on New Year’s Eve.
Staying true to traditional BTV programming, artists will be performing across three areas – the Main Stage, Dance Domain and the Dr Dan’s stage, spread across Sidney Myer Music Bowl & the surrounding King’s Domain parklands.
“We look forward to returning to our usual camping format for Beyond The Valley 2022, but in the meantime, we’re so excited to be able to bring BTV to the City for this unique festival experience. We can’t wait to bring in 2022 with our favourite people,” the organisers said.
Beyond The City will be partnering with AIME First Nations mentoring for this year’s event, with $1 per ticket sold going towards the organisation.
