A Sailor’s Life For Me

Rum is the most magical of drinks in all the land, it’s plain to see. It makes you more charming than you would otherwise be. It’s good on your cornflakes and to share with your mates; and it works wonders on flesh wounds or used as fish bait.

You can drink it for breakfast, you can drink it for tea, but rum will never taste as good as it does at sea. All hail the mighty Lagerstein and their forthcoming new album, All for Rum & Rum for All. It is the band’s second album, due for release early next month.

From their website: “The songwriting on All for Rum & Rum for All brings a matured and magnified sound to bear, picking up straight where the first left off to create an album that is as outrageously fun as it is musically intricate and diverse. For 10 months Captain Gregaaarrr and his crew holed up in the pirate den of Studio Anders Debeerz with Adam Merker to record the most massive Lagerstein sound yet. Using only live instruments including trumpet, trombone, cello, and even a honky tonk piano, these pirates have captured an album full of beautiful instrumentation and musicianship with a strong metaldriven sound.”

Music Man, Bendigo – February 20 & The Barwon Club, Geelong – February 21.
