Say hello to OK. SMASH
There are few things that make us happier than wrapping our hands around a simple cheese-laden, juicy cheeseburger, making a mess and finishing the last piece with sticky fingers and a full stomach – and lucky for us, Little Malop Street’s blossoming precinct just scored a venue rich with burger goodness to do just that.
Thanks to renowned Igni and Hot Chicken Project chef-restaurateur Aaron Turner, who also opened up Tacos y Liquor earlier this year, we’ve now been blessed with OK. Smash, a retro sports bar specialising in cheeseburgers and champagne.
Taking over the intimate space that formerly housed Big Ears, OK. Smash officially opened in late November and is running as an old-school pop-up concept for the summer, boasting a simple yet delicious menu.
For $20, you’ve got two options – a Classic Cheeseburger (beef, American cheese, pickles, ketchup and mustard) or an Oklahoma Smash Cheeseburger (beef, American cheese, onions, pickles and sauce), and both come with a double patty and fries.
Made with a blend of dry-aged chuck and brisket, the burgers are ‘smashed’ to order. There’s even the option to add on extra fries and ranch, blue cheese or Frank’s hot sauce (Hot Chicken Project fans will be well acquainted with these) – in case you’re feeling extra peckish.
Having already perfected the art of whipping up mean burgers from scratch that will have you licking your fingers for days with Hot Chicken Project, rest assured you’ll be treated to the exact same consistency and high quality from the team with these beef burgers, making each bun-wrapped treat a delight.
You’ll also be able to chase your burger down with a selection of beer, cider, wine, spirits and even fancy champagne. Catering to the cocktail lover in all of us, they’ve also got Curatif’s ultra-convenient canned cocktails in espresso martini, negroni, margarita, bloody Mary, Mai Tai and a pineapple daquiri. The gang really is all here!
Worshipping the food of the Gods, OK. Smash are here to satisfy our hunger cravings and undying affection for meat in a bun… you won’t regret checking them out.
OK. Smash is located at 86 Little Malop Street, Geelong and is open from 5pm.
