Feelin’ down? Like you need a little bit of disco, synth beats to lift your dreary morning? FLUIR’s new track ‘I’ve Gotta Have You’ from EP The Way is just the thing to do it for you. While it mightn’t sit quite in the disco genre, its heavy synth and intricate rhythms put it in good stead for the most modern version of the genre possible. But it’s a standalone track and the rest of the EP follows a much more different path.
Further in and an edgier, fluid synth comes into play. The vocals are light and seem to hover over each carefully laid beat. It’s refreshing to see such clear vocal talent with each track that closes the release, especially when alteration is such an easy task. ‘Destination’ is a highlight with its soft, ‘hold-me-tight’ vibe. Also pay attention to ‘The Fear’ and ‘Onus’. In a world where every second artist is exploring their abilities when it comes to music production it may be hard to start out, but FLUIR is definitely worth a look in, especially for a female voice in the industry.
