Global leader in electronic and environmentally friend bus manufacturing, Yutong wrap Green Travel Week celebrations on a high.
Staged in the heart of Brisbane from 17 – 22 September, Yutong Green Travel Week successfully celebrated and raised awareness for sustainability and green transportation. The week-long event brought together leaders in eco-friendly transit, community advocates, and public officials to promote a greener future for the city and beyond.
With strong support from the Brisbane City Council, the Yutong Green Travel Week featured interactive booths, free gifts for public participation, and free shuttle buses showcasing Yutong’s electric bus fleet. The event successfully raised awareness around green travel options, encouraging citizens to take public transport and reduce their carbon footprint.
Powerful speeches and activism from leaders and community voices added to the events powerful message. Charles Hwang, Yutong’s Managing Director for Australasia, kicked off the week with a powerful speech, emphasising Yutong’s commitment to sustainable public transportation. “Yutong is proud to lead the way in green travel, not only in Brisbane but across the globe. Our electric buses are designed to reduce carbon emissions and improve city life,” Hwang said. He reiterated Yutong’s dedication to reducing environmental impact and driving innovations in public transport for a sustainable future.
Adding a community-centric voice to the event was Olympia Kwitowski, the Face of AWCPD (Australian Women and Children Protection and Development), who highlighted the importance of the partnership between Yutong and AWCPD’s “One Square Metre of Sunshine” program. “This initiative encourages families to grow their own small veggie patches at home, supporting both sustainability and healthier lifestyles,” Olympia shared, connecting the dots between environmental responsibility and personal wellness.
Stacey Thomson, well-known environmental advocate and emcee for the event, kept the energy high throughout the week, guiding participants through various interactive activities. Her engaging presence helped inspire the public to explore eco-friendly transportation options and take part in the city-wide initiative.
Whilst an initiative for the green bus manufacturer, Yutong Green Travel Week was more than a sustainable transport showcase It doubled as platform for green advocacy not only in transportation but in cleaner urban living. Yutong and its partners continue to drive the message that every individual’s effort counts towards a more sustainable future.
