The story of Truckstop Honeymoon begins in New Orleans, where Katie played washtub bass and blues piano in the streets of the French Quarter.
One day she met Mike, a banjo slinger who sold his CDs to tourists. Fireworks went off, the pair had a courthouse wedding, and their wedding night was spent in a truck stop somewhere between Lafayette and the Atchafalaya Swamp. Their time together has yielded eight CDs and a fulllength documentary film, not to mention countless shows in rock clubs, bars, houses and barnyards from Nebraska to Tasmania.
Golden Vine, Bendigo – March 8. Truckstop Honeymoon will also take in the Port Fairy Folk Festival.
