Treat yourself to these puppy-themed cupcakes to help fight animal cruelty this August

Ferguson Plarre are fighting animal cruelty one cupcake at a time

Every year, more than 100,000 animals turn to the RSPCA looking for help. In August, the RSPCA throws an annual fundraiser – a Cupcake Day – with the funds going to helping rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need all over the country.

In their quest to bake the world a sweeter place, Ferguson Plarre is creating cupcakes that count in support of this brilliant fundraiser, donating $1 from every ‘Pupcake’ sold throughout August to RSPCA Victoria.

For the third year in a row, Ferguson Plarre is supporting RSPCA Victoria as the major sponsor for its annual Cupcake Day fundraiser. At bakehouses throughout the state, customers will be able to enjoy a delicious cupcake decorated like their favourite pups.

For the entire month of August, cupcake lovers can indulge in chocolate or vanilla puppy-themed cupcakes, with vegan options also available. Pupcakes are sold as singles or in sets of 6, 12 or 24.

In 2021, Ferguson Plarre raised $18,863 and this year it is looking to go bigger with the goal of raising $25,000.

“As the proud owner of two cats and two dogs, I’m delighted that Ferguson Plarre continues to support the RSPCA’s annual Cupcake Day,” Ferguson Plarre Director and Chief Executive Officer Steve  Plarre said.

“To know that every Pupcake sold during August will help improve the lives of all creatures  great and small is wonderful feeling and we know it’s a cause that resonates with our  customers.”

Animal lovers are encouraged to join the fight against animal cruelty by picking up some  Pupcakes and hosting their own event to raise funds for the cause.

RSPCA Victoria CEO, Dr Liz Walker, highlights the importance of support from the local  community in the ongoing fight against animal cruelty.

“90% of our work is funded by the community. Cupcake Day proceeds are vital for helping us  care for our shelter animals, investigate reports of cruelty and fund community education and  outreach programs to improve animal welfare,” says Dr Walker.

Each contribution counts, so customers are encouraged to head to their local Ferguson Plarre  and indulge in some Pupcakes throughout August.
