This Pakington Street cafe is gifting locals a new destination for Friday night drinks

I’m drinking cocktails at Blank Space baby…

Within the blink of an eye, this local coffee shop is set to turn into a bustling bar serving up some fine booze and delicious foods on your Friday nights.

Blank Space Newtown (previously Southside Geelong) has become a favourite of ours ever since opening their doors on Geelong’s centre of cosmopolitan lifestyle and multiculturalism, AKA Pakington Street.

Providing flavoursome and fresh dishes and exceptional St Ali coffee, supporting local suppliers, and featuring many sweet, savoury, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options, it’ll be hard not to find multiple things that tickle your fancy. Our eyes are on their buttermilk waffles (with ice cream, brulee banana, berries, maple and biscoff crumb), NYC bagels, chimichurri eggs, and their fried chicken burger.

Becoming Geelong’s go-to destination for food that’s just begging to be ‘grammed (and eaten, of course), they’ve just given us one more reason to love them with the recent announcement that they’ll be launching ‘Friday Nights’ this week.

Giving us one more destination to indulge in after-work cocktails and delicious eats (which is appreciated given the current restrictions on bookings), Blank Space will transform from an all-day café into a relaxed spot to start the weekend.

Whether you’re spending the night with best pals or the work crew, treat yourself with their shared menu featuring the likes of herb and goats cheese stuffed mushrooms, Mojo beef tacos, fried chicken wings, spiced fried cauliflower, sliders, bao, plus so much more.

There’s also a pretty divine looking grazing platter with cheeses, cured meats, chutney, fresh fruit, bread and marinated veggies which is just perfect to share over a bottle of wine.

There are no surprises that an espresso martini features on the menu, but there’s also the likes of a mojito, Aperol Spritz, pink mimosa, passionfruit fizz and a dark and stormy concoction. Our alcohol-loving selves are keen to try the BS Manhattan though, which promises to be a take on a classic.

Oh and did we mention there’s live music? The lovely Kim Cooper will be on the mic from 7pm-9pm this Friday.

Friday nights just got a whole lot more exciting.

You can book your table by calling 0434 117 988 and find Blank Space Newtown at 4/343 Pakington Street, Newtown.
