Eat what you want, whenever you want.
Picture this: you’re sitting at home in your best pyjamas, wine in one hand and Netflix remote in the other. You’re craving a delicious burger from one restaurant, but you also want to get a few cheeky donuts from another. Usually, you’d opt against such a treat, for you could simply not justify two delivery fees.
That was until KitchaCo came to town, an Australian online food ordering and delivery platform that allows customers to order across the multiple restaurants they collaborate with for only one delivery fee or one pick up location.
This business model all kicked off on a side street in in Brunswick last year, where converted shipping container kitchens and food trucks are cooking up 24 different types of food, from burgers to tacos to schnitzels.
Known as a ‘dark kitchen’, the business is optimised for online delivery, and operates in densely populated areas of our major cities but outside of expensive main-street real estate and without a shopfront, front-of-house staff, parking, signage or any of the associated costs most restaurants have.
Expanding the business from their initial Brunswick residence, KitchaCo now has ‘dark kitchens’ in Chirnside Park, Epping, Narre Warren, Point Cook, Reservoir and now even Geelong.
Setting up in Belmont just up the road from Oz Tenpin Geelong Bowling, residents in Belmont, Grovedale, Breakwater, Charlemont, East Geelong, Fyansford, Geelong, Geelong South, Herne Hill, Highton, Manifold Heights, Mount Duneed, Newcomb, Newtown, St Albans Park, Thomson, Wandana Heights, Waurn Ponds, and Whittington can all indulge in the beauty of KitchaCo, via delivery or contactless pickup.
As for what’s on offer, you’ll find Mexican delights from Mister Alejandro, Mediterranean bites from Mary and a little lamb, hearty burgers from Real OG Burgers, soulful soups from Sipping Ladels, chicken schnitty’s from Sizzlin Schnitzel, hot jam and Nutella doughnuts from Manny’s Doughnuts, succulent and juicy chicken wings from Wingster’s, nachos from Speedy Gonzales, American Hot Dogs from Houston Hot Dogs, grilled cheese toasties from Cheese & Bread, alongside other delicious eats.
So essentially you can order a hot dog, a bowl of pumpkin soup and a hot jam doughnut, all to arrive at the same time with one delivery fee.
It’s all about eating what YOU want, regardless of what everyone else in the room is craving! No more fights over dinner? Yes please.
You can browse the offerings via the website, the app or you’ll be able to find the restaurants on UberEats and Deliveroo.
